Privacy Policy

Fern & Sage Counselling Services complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to ensure that your personal information is protected and treated with care. This privacy notice explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and how it is stored.

Why I collect your information
I collect and process personal information only for the purpose of providing counselling services. This includes setting up an initial discovery call, arranging sessions, and keeping appropriate records of our work together.

What I collect
When you enquire about counselling, I may collect personal details such as your name, contact information, availability, and any other relevant information you choose to share. During counselling, I may also keep brief, anonymised notes to record the progress of our sessions. These notes do not include your name, and your contact details are stored separately.

How your information is stored and for how long

  • Any electronic information is password protected.

  • Any paper records are stored securely.

  • Client records are retained for seven years after counselling has ended, in line with insurance requirements, and then securely destroyed.

Sharing your information
Your personal information will only be used to provide counselling services. It will never be shared with anyone else without your knowledge and consent, unless I am legally required to do so, or if there are safeguarding concerns or risks of harm to yourself or others.
