Client Testimonials

Everyone’s experience in counselling is unique, but sometimes it helps to hear from others who’ve been through the process and how sessions actually are with someone. I’m grateful to the clients who’ve chosen to share their experiences, here are some of their words about what our work together has been like.

-Jen has taken the time to get to know and built a trust with me. Which is important as it is a big issue in my life and with relationships, and it is majorly to do with childhood trauma that has surfaced. She has taken the time to be patient and make me comfortable. Jen gives me space to think and then reflection. She has helped me build self esteem, which I had very little of which would make daily life hard with making the smallest decisions.

-I’ve tried a couple of therapists before but I haven’t stuck with them until Jen. She’s created a safe space that has helped me to put boundaries in place, be kinder to myself, accept the way I’ve changed since my Dad passed away, and has given me coping mechanisms for situations I find stressful. The work I’ve done with Jen has improved so many areas of my life and I look forward to every session with her - I'm excited to grow more.

-Jennifer was my first ever therapist, and it’s unbelievable that I managed to find the right professional on the first try. I’ve been working with Jennifer for over 3 years now, and it has been life-changing. I jumped into it at a very complicated point in my life, and Jennifer not only helped me get through it but also grow tremendously as an individual. Throughout the years, we’ve been working on different issues, problems, and traumas. Before this, I was always worried that therapy had to be intense and too ‘medical’; however, from the first session, I felt comfortable opening up and sharing without any bias or heaviness around it. Moreover, as a queer woman, I always feel listened to and understood, which, in my opinion, is very important when it comes to therapy or counselling. Jennifer manages to provide a comfortable setting no matter the situation - whether you have to rant, cry, or just sit in silence. She’s an incredible therapist!

-Jen is fantastic, she has made me, and my problems feel normal and a lot more manageable. I had a pretty horrible experience with a previous therapist when I was 16 and this made me view all therapists the same way, boy was I wrong! When meeting Jen, I struggled to open up and give her the full version of me, but she gave me the time and space I needed as well as asking useful questions to enable me to speak about my past without realising I was actually fixing how I think. Jen has a relaxed approach, and nothing is too much trouble, you want to spend your session ranting, do it, you want to spend your session crying, do it, you want to spend your time in silence, do it. There is no plan and no pressure to feel a certain thing at a certain time. I am a proud gay woman, and my confidence and empowerment would not be this strong if it wasn’t for Jen. Thank you.
